About us
Group of Bajina Basta youngsters,
inspired by landing of mountaineers on mountain Tara at the end of
50’s, starts the initiative for founding some organizations that
gatheres together young people, and not just them, but all nature
lovers.
 In summer 1962. they organize first
intercourse in nature, and in rented and private tents they spend few
days on Tara (Jarevac). Already in autumn 1962. Scout Group is being
founded by the name of “HEROJ KRCUN”. First actions that scouts
organized were regional importance with the main purpose to involve as
much young people as they can to the newly-founded organization.
Groups are being organized in Elementary Schools and in High Schools,
as well as in local communities. With every new day there are more and
more members in our squad. In those years scouts from Bajina Basta
were taking part in Confederational working actions as well as on
Local actions (afforestation, river-bed setup, construction of sport
terrains…). Bajina Basta scouting its own property had in 70’s when
they were going on to many actions and when they organized actions,
forays, campaigns, summer and winter times.
 The most significant action that had been
organized by Bajina Basta scouts, since their foundation until the end
of 90’s is “KADINJACA FORAY”. Foray with the largest number of
participants was organized in 1977. when more than 1500 participants
took part from every region of Former Yugoslavia. On every action
where Bajina Basta scouts appeared, there
where song, laugh and jokes, they expanded
positive energy on the region, on every scout.
Through scouting of our town
generations and generations have passed (according to some rude
statistic every third citizen of Bajina Basta was member of scout
group).
Scouts of our town from foundation of
scout group, took part on every Replic and Confederational Jambories,
from where they came back with many approvals and many contacts of the
new friends they made. For many years Scout Group “HEROJ KRCUN” had
organized summer campings on Tara (Jarevac and Racunici), where many
other scout groups came to admire to the beauties of mountain Tara.

activelly till the end of 90’s when, from the
known reasons, it stopped with the active
work.
At the end of year 2000, a group of old
scouts, which spent most beautiful years in 70’s in scouting, start
the initiative for re-activating the scout organization of our town.
After few months of preparing the activities, a congress has been held
in April 2001, where the direction was chosen. The direction that has
willingness to animate scout organization, to distract children of our
town from the streets and all the vices of the current days, to teach
them to love and to protect nature. The squad changes its name to
Scout Group “Bajina Basta”. Already in July, on the Municipal Day, a
camp is held where children and parents are being introduced with the
life and work of the scouts. Scouts from our town once again
experience the revival of scout group. We are organizing campings,
winter times, and with every new day our personnel is being stronger
and stronger. Our scouts participate in many actions, and many other
scout groups their summer activities spend in our region. On mountain
Tara were many scout groups from Vojvodina,
Belgrade, as well as Scouts from Verona (Italy).
Scouts from Bajina Basta have
unconditional support from the Local Community and, because of that,
they are bearers of many activities. They are taking part in many
actions of ecological character, in preserving nature, and in their
work they also involved children from Collective Centre Perucac.
 Our scouts are cognizable, popular,
convival, unselfish, they are all of vivacious spirit and humour and
because of that, they are bearers of activities in whole Zlatibor
region. How much they are active in expansion of scout spirit, and
helathy side of life, spekas the reference that they have helped
re-activating of Scout Group in Prijepolje, they have also founded
Scout Group in Nova Varos, and they initiated foundation of Scout
Groups in other cities of our region (Uzice, Kosjeric).
We were candidates for host of 7th
Serbian Scout Jamboree. We have failed, but we will not surrender yet.
We have not lost anything, we have promoted our
Tara on the best sightseeing way. We have the chance to candidate for
being host of next National Jamboree and we will not surrender.
In July 2005 we participated on
EUROJAM (European scout Jamboree) in
London, among 20,000 young people there were 10 our members.
Our main priority is construction of
SCOUT-CENTRE somewhere on
Tara, maybe in Racunici for whom we have structural documentation.
